EPA asks Russell Seifert to lecture at their regional Climate Change Workgroup

by Creative Solar USA

On July 15th, Russell Seifert, President of Creative Solar USA, Inc., was asked to speak at a regional EPA Climate Change Workgroup. Some of the topics discussed were: (a) the basics of solar technology; (b) the economics of photovoltaics in the southeast; (c) PV as a cost effective alternative to finite fuels; (d) rebates, tax incentives and grant programs that make PV even smarter choice; and (e) the plethora of opportunities solar holds for our state, region and beyond.

The discussion was, originally, scheduled to last about 30 minutes. However, interest swelled, and Mr. Seifert was pleased to stay an extra hour discussing these topics in detail and answering questions.

This is the second time the regional EPA office has asked him to speak, and he looks forward to other opportunities to educate regarding renewable energy.

Digitel Wireless Goes Green with "Smart Grid Technology" Teams with Creative Solar, USA to Trial PV-Powered WiMAX Solution

by Creative Solar USA

Atlanta, GA ( PRWEB ) March 10, 2009 -- Digitel Wireless announced today that they have entered into a teaming agreement with Creative Solar USA, Inc. of Canton, GA, to begin trials of solar powered WiMAX radios, as well as solar powered Variable Rate Irrigation Pivots.

"We have been working with rural and agricultural clients over the past few years that need to have their wireless and electric installations in very remote locations to create contiguous coverage," stated Digitel Wireless VP of Sales & Business Development, John Overley. "Not only is it expensive to run power lines from the power grid into these remote locations, but in some cases it's a deterrent to optimal deployment."

"Creative Solar USA has been working with us to come up with an integrated solution that uses solar panels or wind energy to power the WiMAX radios and pivots for remote locations. We think that this is a good model for many reasons; including its cost effectiveness as well as creating a 'no grid-footprint scenario' for the environment, saving money for both farmers and producers," said Overley.

"Digitel has a number of clients that are interested in solar powered solutions. One municipality wants to power their Cisco routers in some of their more remote deployments for public safety applications," stated Russell Seifert, President of Creative Solar USA, a Georgia-based company.

"We are also working with universities to trial alternative energy solutions to power remote soil and moisture probes all integrated with the soon to be deployed Wi-MAX network in South Georgia. The WiMax network will be utilized as the delivery mechanism for delivering the data to I-Linc, the premier decision support Portal tool for small, medium, and larger sized farms," stated Seifert. "The Obama administration has made it clear that America must re-visit their energy strategy to develop and deploy both alternative and renewable energy solutions to supply our energy needs. We are really excited to be able to work with Digitel to help farmers and rural communities become more economically and environmentally successful when it comes to their energy decisions, helping all of us to get away from our addiction and dependence on fossil fuels."

Creative Solar USA, Inc. specializes in alternative energy solutions and is located at 3760 Sixes Road, Suite 126-199, Canton, GA 30114. Creative Solar has also been working with Bill Boone, Director of the Georgia AG Innovation Center in Tifton, GA. www.CreativeSolarUsa.com; phone 770-720-8998.

President Obama says...

by Creative Solar USA

Finally! It looks like we might have a government that is realizing how vital renewable energy is to our country's long term health - financially and environmentally.

Here are some quotes of interest from President Obama's speech last night.

"We know that a country that harnesses the power of clean, renewable energy will lead the 21st century. And yet, it is China that has launched the largest effort in history to make their economy energy-efficient. We invented solar technology, but we've fallen behind countries like Germany and Japan in producing it. New plug-in hybrids roll off our assembly lines, but they will run on batteries made in Korea."

Side note for those who do not know: In Germany, 47% of their energy comes from solar. Percentage-wise, they lead the world in the utilization of solar technology! Yet, solar was invented here in the United States! It's time we used our invention for our benefit.

More from President Obama's speech. (Note emphasis added by us.)

"Thanks to our recovery plan, we will double this nations supply of renewable energy in the three years. We've also made the largest investment in basic research funding in American history -- an investment that will spur not only new discoveries in energy, but breakthroughs in medicine and science and technology."

Now, that's excellent news for us all!

Returning to his speech:

"But to truly transform our economy, to protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy.
...(snip)...
And to support -- to support that innovation, we will invest $15 billion a year to develop technologies like wind power and solar power, advanced biofuels, clean coal, and more efficient cars and trucks built right here in America."

We are excited for the potential this type of investment holds, and we looking forward to the positive changes in our local and regional communities and nationally, as well!
